About Fabienne Loyens

Fabienne studied ceramics and glass in the PXL University College in Hasselt, Belgium but has always been interested in experimenting with other materials. Her work always represents her adoration for nature. She enjoys exploring the making process of pewter, creating mother-forms cast in silicone or plaster moulds, or free-carving plaster moulds.

Entry description

‘Pewter symbolises energy in this work. The connection that happens here with pewter shows energy that comes from within and holds everything together. Everything has energy, something that we do not see, but we can feel, as it flows from within and connects us. The beetle is a symbol for every living being that is carried and controlled by energy during its life.’
