Judith is based on the South Ayrshire coast and has worked with pewter for about ten years. Her professional background is in clinical research but she has enjoyed contrasting this spending time on more artistic pursuits, particularly working with pewter. Judith works across a number of different techniques including repoussé and etching and her designs are often based around nature and coastal themes.
‘This is a pair of hammered and etched pewter dishes. One is etched in the negative representing the fossil fuel industry with the possible consequences depicted as a forest fire on the stem and underside of the dish. The other is etched in the positive representing green energy solutions, the stem and underside etched with trees in full foliage.’
