Georgia Basham is a third year Design Crafts student at De Montfort University in Leicester. As a ceramicist, process led experimentation is important to Georgia, as it allows her to be spontaneous within her craft. She predominantly works in slip-casting and has recently expanded her repertoire to include 3D ceramic printing, with use of a self-built printer. Combining a love for ceramics with the potential of pewter Georgia is able to create functional yet beautiful pieces. Pewter Live has allowed Georgia to broaden her understanding and appreciation of metalsmithing. She looks forward to using it more in the future.
Entry description
“A set of two bespoke espresso cups, complete with saucers. This 20s inspired collection features a ceramic cup encased by a decorative pewter casing. The design emulates the stylistic patterns which reflect the art deco period. With a removable ceramic cup this design is both practical and beautiful.”
