Kieran Whyte was eighteen when he discovered his love of being creative with metal. Now 22, among the things he has made are rings, chalices, a forged axe, a handmade hammer and a silver spoon. With each creation he grows to better understand the processes and the characteristics of different metals.
Entry description
The Light Within
‘I used the iconic shape of a light bulb to make a sculptural piece that symbolises energy and is easy to recognise. I used cast pewter to make the bulb shape and mounted it to a block of reclaimed wood. The inside of the bulb illuminates in the dark without the use of electricity.’
