Mengyuan Xia, started creating jewellery in 2019. In 2021, she entered the Fashion Jewellery Design Course of London College of Fashion (BA). She is exploring various methods of creation along with metalworking skills and enjoys collaborating with other artists to create jewellery installations.
Entry description
Spring is inspired by the relationship between humans and nature and the need for harmonious coexistence. With the palm of the hand representing human beings, butterflies and round bubbles representing the flow of nature. The butterfly wing can be moved up and down as if you can feel the life of a butterfly. The design was completed with a 3D printed wax model and then cast for Pewter. The round bubble part is made of combined glass.
