Rory Crellin discovered pewter when introduced to it by his tutor, Richard Reeve at Freeman College in 2021. Born profoundly deaf and diagnosed autistic at the age of three, Rory uses pewter to give his thoughts expression. Based in York, Rory is this year starting out in business. He uses a variety of techniques and 3D printing to create jewellery and beautiful personal objects influenced by fantasy, science fiction and nature.
Entry description
In Pebble Balancing, Rory Crellin explores the many different ways to cast pewter. He has for the first time also worked with wooden objects to repurpose them, looking for different ways to add pewter to wood. This work is created to be touched and encourage mindfulness and harmony.
