Sue Rawley is a repoussé artist living in London. Sue designs and creates handmade furniture, mirrors and boxes with repoussé sheet pewter, embellished with semi-precious stones, crystals and agate. Each piece is an exclusive creation. Sue is influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement and Art Nouveau, her favourite artistic movements, and finds inspiration and energy through nature and the crystals she uses in her pieces.
‘This box is a symbol of my appreciation for all the beautiful energy that can be found in the natural world. It is an ode to botanical life, especially my favourite creatures, dragonflies. They give me the energy to create. The crystals and stones displayed on the box can be seen as spiritual energy sources. I’ve tried to capture the flowing and continuous essence of energy, the primary cause of life.’
